Estero, Fla. — Florida Jr. Blades alumnus Josh Koepplinger inked a professional contract with the Macon Mayhem of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL). After completing his Jr. Blades career, Koepplinger went on to be a standout at Lawrence University finishing among the school’s career leaders in multiple categories.

Koepplinger joined the Florida Jr. Blades during the 2014-15 season from Saginaw, Michigan.

“The entire Jr. Blades organization has helped my hockey career tremendously. From day one to the day I left Fort Myers I was treated amazing,” said Koepplinger. “It’s a first class organization with first class individuals. I made the most of the opportunities I was given and really developed into a well-rounded player and person on and off the ice. The facilities were top notch and the coaching staff was great which allowed us all to excel.”

Koeppling had a standout season with the Jr. Blades recording 77 points in 39 games.

“Josh is a great power forward who plays very physical and has a lethal shot. He's very dangerous in the offensive zone," said assistant coach Tyler Carlston.

During his time at Lawrence, Koepplinger recorded 47 goals and 44 assists in 102 games.

"Josh is a natural scorer who has a great release," Lawrence coach Mike Szkodzinski said. "We couldn't be happier for him and look forward to watching him at the next level.”
