Congratulations to this week’s Players Of The Week from the USPHL Premier’s Southeast and Florida Divisions.

Goal: Patrik Lietava, Florida Jr. Blades.

Lietava made 33 saves on 35 shots as the Blades pulled off a big upset win over the DME Swamp Rabbits on Sunday. It was the Blades’ first win over DME this year in six meetings. He also stopped 47 of 49 shots in a 2-0 loss to DME. The two teams meet three times in a row again Feb. 8 through 10.

Forward: Tyler Schaeffer, Tampa Bay Juniors.

Schaeffer (‘99/Edwardsville, Ill.) had a big night for the Juniors on Friday, scoring three goals and one assist, and adding one more shootout goal, though the Juniors would fall short in the shootout that night. He scored one more goal on Sunday against the Florida Eels, as well, and now has 21 goals and 39 points in 34 games.

Defense: Jaxon Rutkowski, Hampton Roads Whalers.

Rutkowski (‘98/Rome, N.Y.) picked up four points for the Whalers as they swept the weekend against a very strong Richmond Generals team on the road. He had two assists in Saturday’s 5-4 win, and then scored the power play game-winning goal and added an assist on Sunday, in a 4-2 victory.
