Florida Jr. Blades Earn Weekend Sweep Against DME Swamp Rabbits / Jr. Blades Elite

ESTERO, FL –The weekend sweep was complete after four different Florida Jr. Blades scored Sunday morning to lift the program to a 4-1 over the DME Swamp Rabbits at Hertz Arena. Elite went 2-0 on the weekend after winning Saturday afternoon's tilt 4-2.

“I'm very proud of this team and the compete level they showed this weekend to come away with a sweep,” said head coach Todd Pococke. “Things are coming together for us, but we still have work to do.”

Just 3:03 after the opening puck drop, Erik Peavey scored off a pass from Colton Attisano and Michael Zymros. The goal was Peavey's fourth point of the weekend that included three goals and one assist.

Exiting the first intermission, Attisano and Peyton Kugler set up Lucas Galvez who doubled the lead 2-0. Attisano notched five points in his last two games, including two goals and three assists. The Swamp Rabbits Josh Nawicki earned a goal against netminder Cole Garver to end the frame 2-1.

Within eight minutes of the third, Matthew Pinkerton and Dylan Thompson fed the puck to EJ Halleck who sent the puck to the back of the net. TJ Gerard solidified the Jr. Blades 4-1 win at the 16:02 mark with help from Halleck and Thompson.

Florida Jr. Blades goaltender Cole Garver Lawson earned the win stopping 40 of the 41 shots faced, while Swamp Rabbits netminder Antoine Chouinard took the loss allowing four goals on 45 shots.
