Florida Jr. Blades Elite Opens Charlotte Showcase With 4-2 Win Over Potomac Patriots / Jr. Blades Elite

INDIAN TRAIL, N.C- Erik Peavey scored twice and added an assist to help lift the Florida Jr. Blades to a 4-2 victory over the Potomac Patriots Thursday night to open the Charlotte Showcase at the Xtreme Ice Train Rink.

Dylan Thompson sent a pass to Peavey to open the scoring at the 10:43 mark of the first period. Patriots Bryan Kitchen responded just two minutes later to end the 25-minute showcase period 1-1.

Exiting intermission, Peavey and Thompson struck again at the 4:12 mark of second this time with Thompson earning the goal. Jr. Blades Garrett Ewens would widen the lead with an unassisted goal against Patriots netminder Zane Branson. Exactly 60 seconds later, Patriots Nicholas Wood was able to beat Jr. Blades netminder Cameron Lawson before Peavey closed out the scoring ending the battle 4-2.

Florida Jr. Blades goaltender Cameron Lawson earned the win stopping 25 of the 27 shots faced, while Patriots netminder Zane Branson took the loss allowing four goals on 29 shots.
