Monday, March 5, 2018, 7:16PM

ESTERO, FL- On Friday, Florida Jr. Blades alumni Daniel Echeverri returned to Germain Arena with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits for the first time since receiving his first ECHL call-up to face the Florida Everblades in a weekend series.

“We're very proud of Dan and excited that he got the call to play for Greenville. He has worked very hard to get there and we wish him the best of luck,” said head coach Todd Pococke. “It's great to see our guys making their way through the ranks like this.”

Echeverri earned the call-up to the Swamp Rabbits on February 13 and has since notched four points including one goal and three assists in his last 10 games. The former Jr. Blade scored his first ECHL career goal Saturday night in front of friends, family, Jr. Blades players and alumni in the stands.

Since leaving the Jr. Blades after his 2010-11 season, Echeverri went on to play at Florida Gulf Coast University club hockey team, where he won a pair of national titles. During his collegiate career he also represented Team Columbia at the Pan-American Ice Hockey Games where he won both gold and silver medals during his two appearances.

At the completion of his collegiate career, Echeverri signed with the Macon Mayhem of the Southern Professional Hockey League during the 2016-17 season where he was named as a member of the 2016-17 SPHL's All-Rookie Team.
