Josh Robinson Hired As Jr. Blades Premier Goaltending Coach

Estero, FL- The Florida Jr. Blades have hired Josh Robinson as the goaltending coach for the Premier organization, general manager Tad O’Had and head coach Todd Pococke announced today.

"We continue to look to provide our players every advantage, Josh Robinson will be a major add as our Premier Jr. Blades goalie coach,” O’Had said. “We feel his insight, technical eye and overall expertise of the position is exactly what will help provide our goalies the needed support to develop their skills."

The Frankenmuth, Michigan native joins the Jr. Blades staff after concluding his goaltender career playing five professional seasons, primarily in the ECHL and American Hockey League.

“We're really looking forward to having Josh be part of our program,” said Pococke. “His excitement and eagerness to work with goaltenders along with his resume is a recipe for greatness.”

In 2015-16 Robinson was named ECHL Goaltender of the Year after a standout season with the Missouri Mavericks posting a 28-2-1 record that included a league-best 1.88 goals-against average and a .931 save percentage.  

“I’m very excited to join the Jr. Blades as the organizations new goaltending coach,” Robinson said. “I look forward to working with the goalies on a day-to-day basis and helping our players grow and develop any way I can.”

As the Michigan Tech University alum enters his goaltending career with the Premier organization, he will also serve as the new goaltending coach for the Florida Everblades and Junior Everblades.
